Improving the Accuracy of NASCAR COT Chassis Fabrication
Researchers are evaluating the current Dale Earnhardt Inc. (DEI) chassis fabrication and metrology procedures in this project. The goal is to determine the root cause of dimensional variations in suspension mounting points and make recommendations for process improvements to achieve tighter tolerance for suspension mounts. Suspension technology options are being assessed for the DiMora Motorcar Natalia SLS 2 sport luxury sedan. Concept design will help DiMora package other vehicle systems while working with the knowledge that the vehicle has package protection for a suspension that can yield the right levels of performance.
